Sustainability and reducing waste were the focal points of many of the new products unveiled at this year’s Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS). Being more mindful of the resources being used in your home is a great idea and has many benefits.
Of course, there’s the environmental impact of reducing waste and energy consumption, but your wallet will also thank you.
Let’s take a look at some of the new, more sustainable products that were introduced.
Frigidaire Gallery® Counter-Depth Four Door Refrigerator
This new refrigerator was designed to reduce food waste. The CrispSeal® Fresh crispers will keep your produce fresh and crisp longer than the current refrigerators available on the market.
This is excellent news for people who buy produce with high hopes of eating healthy, get distracted, and find their nutritious treats have gone bad.
Quartz surfacing manufacturer Caesarstone unveiled its new Pebbles Collection of countertops at KBIS. Designed to evoke the feeling of small stones, the collection is offered in a palette of warm tones and distinctive textures. Though they represent nature, the countertops incorporate technology to create a high-quality material that is nonporous, durable, flexible, and resists scratches, stains, mold and mildew.
TOTO Washlet® G450 Integrated Toilet
If you thought all toilets were the same, think again! This new toilet, made by TOTO, features an automatic flush and TORNADO FLUSH system that allows users to choose how much water is needed, saving money and, more importantly, water.
Plus, the touchpad remote control will remember each user’s preferences, so each time you sit down, your toilet will be heated to your liking, and the washlet cleaning system will also remember your preferences. Bonus is that this toilet was designed to be easy to clean!
Dishwashers are convenient, but they use a lot of water. The new ProfiLine dishwasher by Miele USA helps with the water issue. This unit can be used in residential homes or in commercial settings. It offers a short 24-minute wash cycle. Even though the wash cycle is short, the water is still able to reach 180°F and remove 99% of viruses that may be lurking on your dishes.
The ProfiLine Dishwasher also has a 3D multiflex tray with height-adjustable trays and a separate row of spikes to stack your bowls to allow optimal cleaning.
